授業の目的 | This course is designed to improve English listening and speaking skills, inclusive of English grammar/vocabulary/reading skills, skills needed to work with peers in English, and understanding of local and global communities. The activities in this course encourage students to develop and exchange well-informed opinions via up-to-date and relevant content that connects them to their classmates and people from around the world. Students will explore the connections between the course content and their own lives. | |||||||||||

1. Course introduction 2. Unit 1: Lifestyle (SDG3: Good health and well-being) 3. Unit 2: Competitions 4. Unit 3: Transportation 5. Unit 4: Challenges 6. Unit 5: The environment (SDG7: Affordable and clean energy) 7. Unit 6: Stages of life, Reviewing the first half of the semester 8. Midterm Exam, previewing the rest of the semester 9. Unit 8: Technology 10. Speaking Test 11. Unit 9: Vacations 12. Unit 10: Products 13. Unit 11: History 14. Unit 12: Nature, Reviewing the second half of the semester 15. Final Exam and reflecting on the course |

授業の進め方 | Student will use the Spark platform to study the listening/videos from the Student Book and Workbook. Listening content from the Workbook will appear on quizzes. Students will also study ALC listening content. Students will need to complete unit previews that cover grammar/vocabulary/reading from the textbook. Student will take a speaking test, which is a major assignment that is needed to pass the class. Students will take a midterm and final, which includes content from the Student Book, Videos, Workbook, and ALC. Students will take a TOEIC Listening test at the end of the semester. In each class, students will practice the listening and speaking activities in the textbook. Through these activities, students will use English, critically think, and relate to their local and international community. Students are expected to actively engage with their classmates in English, to the best of their ability. | |||||||||||

教科書:Life 3 2/e Student Book with Spark Access + e-Book (1 year access) (9798214331539) ※小テストや中間試験、期末試験の勉強をするために、新品教科書のコードが必要です。 Major exam policy Students will take a midterm exam(中間試験)and final exam(期末試験). These are required to pass the class. You cannot take the final if you have already been absent five times or more.5回以上授業を欠席すると期末試験の受験資格を失いますので注意してください。 Examination policy You must bring a laptop that can connect to wifi and earphones etc. to take the examinations on Moodle. Taking examinations without coming to class is not allowed and will result in failing the class. Plagiarism Policy All of your work must be your own. Plagiarism results in a zero for the course and possible disciplinary action. Absence Policy If you miss 5 classes or more, you cannot pass this course. If you are 30 minutes late, leave 30 minutes early, leave for 30 minutes during class, you will be considered absent. 5回以上授業を欠席すると未修になります。 |
